SÍNDROME DO DENTE RACHADO: TRINCAS SE NÃO DIAGNOSTICADAS ORIGINARÃO FRATURAS DENTÁRIAS - RELATO DE SÉRIE DE CASOS
Resumo
A síndrome do dente rachado (SDR), do inglês Cracked tooth syndrome é uma realidade que permeia os consultórios odontológicos há muitos anos. O conceito da SDR refere-se em uma fratura incom-pletada estrutura dentária, que pode envolver o esmalte e a dentina, progredindo para uma comunicação com a polpa ou ligamento periodontal e levar a consequente perda do dente. A sua origem mais provável tem-se com as trincas, de difícil diagnóstico clínico e também radi-ográfico ou tomográfico, muitas vezes com leves ou inexistentes sintomatologias por parte do paciente. As trincas que se tornam fraturas dentárias podem ter sentido horizontal ou vertical. Originalmente, iniciam no esmalte coronário e evoluim para dentina e cemento, podendo tornar a manutenção do dente inviável. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar um caso clínico mostrando a SDR que evoluiu para uma fratura e a consequente perda do dente.
