ARTROSE NA ARTICULAÇÃO TEMPORO-MANDIBULAR: Relato de caso

Resumo


  A artrose é uma doença articular crônica, de caráter lento, progressivo e debilitante muito comum que afeta aproximadamente um sexto da população mundial. Quando presente na articulação temporomandibular, a depender do grau clínico da artrose, resulta em dor, crepitação, restrição do movimento de abertura bucal e perda da função articular. O diagnóstico é realizado por achados radiográficos e confirmados a partir de exames complementares. Já o tratamento, divide-se em abordagens conservadoras e cirúrgicas que deverão ser selecionadas a partir da singularidade de cada caso. O presente trabalho objetiva discutir o acometimento da artrose na articulação temporomandibular através de um relato de caso de uma paciente do gênero feminino de 18 anos, que buscou atendimento sob queixa de estalidos e crepitação. É fundamental avaliar cada caso com bastante zelo antes de receitar um determinado tipo de tratamento, assim como explorar as demais opções e solicitar uma equipe multiprofissional quando necessário.
