Osteonecrose Perimplantar Relacionada ao Uso de Bisfosfonatos: Revisão de Literatura

Resumo


O uso de implantes dentários na reabilitação oral de pacientes vem sendo amplamente empregado. No entanto, o uso de algumas medicações, entre elas, os bisfosfonatos, estão sendo associadas como um fator de risco para o insucesso no tratamento com implantes por estar relacionada ao aparecimento de osteonecrose nos maxilares. Portanto, essa monografia tem por objetivo fazer uma revisão de literatura nas principais bases de dados disponíveis sobre os efeitos do uso sistêmico dos bisfosfonatos associado a implantes dentários. A maioria dos estudos mostraram que pacientes que receberam tratamento com bisfosfonato para algum tipo de desordem sistêmica, seja administrado por via oral ou sistêmica, aumentaram o risco para o desenvolvimento de algum tipo de osteonecrose dos maxilares em áreas onde foi realizada cirurgia para colocação de implantes dentários. No entanto, mais pesquisas devem ser realizadas para melhor elucidar as consequências e tratamento para a ocorrência desse problema após procedimentos odontológicos.
