Frenectomia lingual em paciente pediátrico: relato de caso

ABSTRACT: The lingual frenulum is an anatomical structure in the form of folds, which is located between the belly of the tongue and the floor of the oral cavity by connecting them. In some cases this brake may present short, preventing the proper movement of the body. This abnormality is calledAnkyloglossia, popularly known as tongue-tied, that beyond the language difficulty moving, can also compromise phonation and chewing. In order to solve the consequences of Ankyloglossia, many dentists choose to perform frenectomy, surgery where the incision proceeds of the lingual frenulum. The objective of this study is to report the case of a child with 04-year-old male who sought care in pediatric dentistry specialization UEA to treat Ankyloglossia. When well indicatedfrenectomy surgery may contribute to better psycho-emotional development of the patient, as it will provide better language movement and better pronunciation of words.
