Abstract
The Squamous papilloma is a benign lesion common in individuals between 30-50 years of age, occurring with the same frequency in men and women. Clinically, it presents as a single nodule exophytic, soft, painless and usually pedunculated, with numerous surface projections. The location of most affected is the dorsum of the tongue and soft palate. Histopathologically, presents parakeratinized hyperplastic stratified squamous epithelium with papillary projections ceróticas blunted, koilocytes scattered in the spinous layer. In situ hybridization (HIS) is the most suitable method for the detection of HPV types present in oral lesions. The objective was to report a case of a patient with clinical and histopathological diagnosis of condyloma that peaked after performing in situ hybridization were diagnosed late Squamous papilloma.
