Prevalência de Lesões Compatíveis Com Odontoma em Radiografias Panorâmicas da Clínica Radiológica do Centro de Pesquisas Odontológicas São Leopoldo Mandic

ABSTRACTOdontomas are mixing benign tumors formed by differentiated structures of odontogenic origin. The objective of this work was to study the prevalence of odontomas in panoramic radiographs of 1.130 patients from the Radilogic Clinic of São Leopoldo Mandic Center Dental Research, from 2003 to 2007, and highlight radiographic by applying filters to images. The radiographs included in the sample understood the conventional scanned and digital direct. The results showed that the age of greater frequency of patients in the clinic radiographed was 11 to 20 years (45.2%). Two compatibles images had been observed with composed odontoma in two digitized panoramic radiographs. Both images were related the unerupted teeth. Adjustments in the brightness and contrasts were made in radiographs and used these filters in Adobe Photoshop CS3, version 10.0, and in two other digital direct radiographs, one with enclosed supranumerary tooth, and another with compatible image with bone condensation. The results had evidenced an otimization in the radiographic diagnosis of the anatomical and pathological details from the analyzed images, being possible to observe with great clearness the details of dentices and the circumscribed area of the injury, and normal teeth of both the arches, of unerupted teeth and the areas of bone condensation.
