Abstract
The main objective of the present study is to evaluate, through histological analysis, using the HE technique, and molecular analysis, using the PCR technique in real time, the biomolding process of bone repair in cavities in femorals of mice, which were submitted to non-ablative Laser radiation. The radiation period was every 48 hours, initiated immediately after the injury production, with the animals death being carried out in the 15th, 21st and 30th days. The evaluated tissue phenomenons were the degree of bone cortical closure, the degree of bone neoformation, the presence of conjoint tissue invagination and the presence of pathological bone reabsorbance. In the groups indicated for molecular analysis, the same protocols were used and the quantity of osteopontin protein was evaluated. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the protein expression between the groups studied; nevertheless, in the descriptive analysis, a larger degree of cortical closure and of bone neoformation was found in the groups that received radiation, when compared to the control group. One can conclude that the protocols used in laser therapy were efficient in the bone repair process.
